Green woman

On holiday I have read a book by Monique Roffey - White woman on a green bicycle. It was about a family who moved to Trinidad and wife's troubles with her expectations, love, reality and being a stranger in a blackmen's world. She called Trinidad a green woman, who seduced her husband. She hated and loved the island at the same time. I liked the book, maybe it didn't amaze me, but it was good for holiday.
I've never liked tropical landscapes, I thought them as boring and uncomfortable. But now, 6 months after reading Roffey's book I catch myself sometimes on thinking about Trinidad.

It's nice to warm looking at such pictures.

Scotch&Soda

I have to confess, I do not fancy summer. But on Maison Scotch photoshots it looks like fun. The light, the warmth... and you can almost smell the scents of wild flowers and sand. That summer doesn't seem hot. Maybe it's indian summer already. The first true adventure after years of prison? Mind's prison. I can feel the freedom in this pictures. And clothes fit perfectly. Simple, feminine design for every occasion. The only thing I don't really like it's the ascendance of pink.

If I ever...

If I ever got married... I won't probably, but it's nice for a girl to have a bride's gown on her mind, isn't it?

Holy ghosts and geishas

Alex Winston's voice is catchy and iritaiting at the same time. It remids me of the 80ties, infant girlish folk singers and geishas. I'm not sure about my opinion about her songs - they have a nice tune and quite fine lyrics, they' re great for a category "listening without obligation". Yay, not a bad idea - sometimes I'm not feeling comfortable with some kind of artists because I cannot tell if I admire them or not. So the category LISTENING WITHOUT OBLIGATION is a perfect solution. Don't talk, just listen. But I would not be myself if I don't comment - so, Alex... Alex is pretty, and she's got a style. And the video for Choice Notes is fine, too. Some various shots from suburbs make a sensual story of a place and thoughts.

2 perfect crafts for a new beginning

Two great long term crafts I found for new year.

blog.honest.com

Start the year with an empty jar an fill it with notes about good things to happen. Then, on New Years Eve empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year.

52weeksproject

Your private botanical calendar. If you ever had a problem with a place for all those little blooms, leafs, flowers you collected for memories - there's a great solution. Mark them and describe - what kind of plant is it, where didi you find it and what special was in that moment.

I've begun my jar already. Hope I would have enough determination to fill it during the whole year!

Both

I'm not really in "in love" mood, but those two pictures next to each other make me feel like asking questions about the existence of love again.

Please, do it again...

Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day... - that's by Biggest Three. But from last months I'm truely enchanted with Julie London's voice. For me, she's perfect, but not my beauty type at all! But the voice... So mature, so feasty, so catchy, so feminine. Just the brightest star on the map of jazz. Sailing, swinging, sweetest, rosy, cosy...
